Welcome to the new online application for the Professional Fiscal Careers with the State of Maryland.

We have streamlined the process for applying for many, professional Accounting, Auditing, Budgeting, and Grants Management job titles.  You can now apply and take the test for multiple job titles in one easy, web based process. Please refer to the “Jobs” link in the top left corner of this page to find out more about the job titles covered by this process.  Each job is linked to a bulletin that will provide you with further information.  After reviewing the list, you simply click on the “Apply” link to begin the process.  The entire process is outlined in more detail under the “Help” link.

The testing process has three parts that consist of questions about your job-related education, training, certification and work experience:

Part IA - Minimum Qualifications Review
Part IB - Identification of Interested Job Classifications
Part IC - Collection of Demographic Information
Part II - Qualifications Supplement
Part III - Special Skills Certification

Provided that your information is complete, there will be no paper or additional information that will be required to place you on eligible lists for which you apply and qualify.  The responses and information that you provide on this application are subject to the same verification as the traditional paper based MS-100 that is completed and signed.  You must meet all minimum qualifications to be eligible for appointment.  All of the information that you submit is subject to verification by the Appointing Authority.  Please be sure that your responses are accurate and truthful.

A few points to keep in mind as you proceed in order to make this process easier and quicker:

(1) The screens are best viewed at 800 x 600 resolution.

(2) The menu is located in the top left corner of each page and provides links to various items related to the application process.

(3) Definitions for text presented in bold are located in “Glossary,” which can be accessed via the menu in the top left corner of each page.

(4) Based on your interests and qualifications, you will be asked various questions about your education and experience.   If you qualify for multiple specialties, it is possible that you will be presented with identical questions during the process.  Please be patient as you go through and respond to these questions, even if you have answered them before.

(5) Some of the information you will be asked to provide will call for dates or facts about your education or work experience that might be difficult to remember.  It will be helpful to gather a resume, professional certification cards, and college transcripts before you continue, so you can complete the process quickly and easily.

Thank you for your interest in employment with the State of Maryland.
